KEVIN BARTRAM/The Daily News.The top half of an abandoned offshore platform is lifted from about 200 feet of water 100 miles south of Galveston on Tuesday, June 28, 2005. A crane aboard the derrick barge Kallop lifted the El Paso Corporation before setting it on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico to form an artificial reef. Workers cut the legs of the platform about 90 feet below the surface.
